<p>How many of you have a never-ending list of items TO DO? (I know I do).</p>
<p>Do you ever find yourself thinking about them before you go to sleep or the moment you wake up?</p>
<p><strong>Do the “undones” on the list cause anxiety</strong> and prevent you from focusing on the task at hand?</p>
<p>Sound like you? <strong>You’re not alone.</strong> Many people feel like hamsters on treadmills going, going, going and doing, doing, doing but never producing satisfactory results.</p>

<p>Every item on our to do list that is looming over our heads is like a tax deadline (we all know what that feels like, right?) If left undone it creates stress, worry, and ultimately slows down our brain’s ability to <strong>perform at optimal capacity.</strong></p>
<p>We are operating with too many files open on the computer of our mind, and we can’t make any progress on our To Do list.</p>
<p>“There aren’t enough hours in the day,” you tell yourself, mentally cataloguing the tasks for the next day before you go to sleep. <strong>If there were only a few more hours, I could get everything done.<br />

Right?</p>

<p><strong>Wrong!</strong> Trust me. With my busy schedule as a speaker there are days that I have 27 hours. And guess what? I don’t get any more done on those days than on the days I lose time and only have 19 or 20 hours. Time is not what gets more done. It is about optimizing our energy.</p>
<p>I am going to give you <strong>a powerful three step process</strong> that if you follow, I promise you will have more energy, enthusiasm and feel more engaged all day long.</p>

<strong>1. Delegate it</strong></span></p>
<p>Anything on your to-do list for more than a month is there either because 1) you are not good at it, 2) don’t have time in your life, or 3) it is not a productive use of your time and energy. <strong>You should be focused on productive activities</strong> that affect your bottom line. Delegate the task and keep accountability tight so you can trust it will get done, and done right. <p>Schedule a 20-90 minute segment of your day (like you would with an important appointment with your boss or best clients) to <strong>be like Nike and Just Do IT</strong>. It’s much easier to be successful when you set concrete parameters for yourself instead of an abstract goal that you try to complete “when you have time.”</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">3. Dump it</span></strong></p>
<p dir="ltr">Some items are simply not a good use of our time or energy. When this is the case, we need to move it from our<strong> TO DO list to LET GO list</strong> and just dump it. Maybe not forever, but for now. Just erasing it off your list will give you more energy to focus on your top three priorities.</p>

<p>Each of us will have three minutes to impress the judges, who will select three finalists to speak on July 14 on the main stage for six minutes apiece. Like American Idol, the winner be crowned live on stage.<br />

We all have TO DO lists and anything that is undone uses energy resources in our mind, which slows us down. Just like a computer, even if a file is not being used it is still running in the background. If it’s low on our TO DO list, it doesn’t mean it is not keeping us up at night or occupying our thoughts, even if in the background. It zaps our energy and productivity.</p>

<p>In order to boost our energy to have more time for the life we work so hard to build we have to create a LET GO list.</p>
<p><strong>What can we LET GO of?</strong> Let me share with you my list to inspire you with ideas to Spring Clean out your mind to boost your energy, productivity so you can have more joy and fulfillment.</p>

<p>1) <strong>Worry</strong> (especially about things I can’t control)</p>

<p>5) <strong>Negative self talk</strong> (If I catch myself doing it, instead of judging I gently reframe myself. Here’s an example: Negative voice: You’re fat. Positive reframe: Keep tracking your food and attending Weight Watchers, and you will lose weight!)</p>

<p>7) <strong>Over-scheduling</strong>  (I find when I schedule in downtime to chill, I accomplish double when I get back into the office. We are not robots—even though it feels like it sometimes—and need rejuvenation time to operate at full capacity).</p>

<p>That Was Easy!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.deborahderas.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Easy.jpg"><img class="alignleft  wp-image-960" title="Easy" src="http://www.deborahderas.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Easy-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="192" height="192" /></a>Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the challenges you are facing?</p>
<p>Do you ever feel like crawling under the covers and going back to sleep to avoid life?</p>
<p>Do you feel frustrated, anxious, or even depressed at times because a solution to your problems is not clear?</p>
<p>As a work-life balance expert I am not immune to life’s challenges. But after two decades of studying, practicing, using tools and processes on myself, coaching clients, and teaching my audience members around the world, I know some proven techniques that work every time.</p>
<p>The other night at 3 a.m. I was startled to wake up to hear a man’s voice that seemed to be coming from my living room. I really just wanted to ignore it and go back to sleep—but I heard it again and started to panic. So, I got up and slowly started to go to the living room armed with a prayer and a hope that I was simply hearing things.</p>
<p>I looked in my travel basket, where the sound turned out to be coming from, and my EASY button from Staples was spontaneously going off. How crazy! Normally, it does not make a sound unless you press it—so I brought it to my room to see if it had anything else to say—now that I was completely awake. I put it on my bed-side table and waited for it to say something, maybe “that was easy!” again. But nothing—just silence!</p>
<p>Since I was in a mental at (now) 3:17 a.m. I just closed my eyes and went into a meditation. Then, I heard my intuition (which I call my IGS or Intuitive Guidance System) tell me that anything I was worried or concerned about was really easy. It told me that I was overcomplicating things and making them more difficult than they needed to be. If I just took one step at a time everything would work out and it would be much easier that I expected. Woah. I was not expecting that divine download. Normally during the business of my day I am so connected to my left brain (and laptop) that even if the message had appeared I may not have heard it in my cluttered mind. But in this moment it came through loud and clear. And guess what? After that I felt such a peace come over me. It was as if a weight was lifted off my shoulder and I was in a state of serenity</p>
<p>In consideration of my recent experience, I wanted to share the steps that can help you to open your mind to a divine download.</p>
<p>1) Pause during your day. Set the cell phone to go off 15 minutes earlier before you get out of bed so you can listen to your inner voice before you start your day.</p>
<p>2) Ask a question that is concerning you. Then wait and allow your Intuition (IGS) to download the answer. Be patient. It may not come right away. But maybe while you shower, drive to work, or later in day, you will hear your answer.</p>
<p>3) When things seems difficult, release them from your left-brain (the problem-solving, analytical part of our mind), and allow your emotions to process them before acting.</p>
<p>4) Thank your intuition. The more we recognize our power to resolve our life’s challenges, the more it will be enabled to help us.</p>

Do you ever stay up late at night trying to figure out ways to resolve your problems?</p>
<p><a href="http://www.deborahderas.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/overwhelmed.jpg"><img class="alignleft  wp-image-837" title="overwhelmed" src="http://www.deborahderas.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/overwhelmed-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a>Many of my coaching clients come to me because they are depressed, anxious, or just unhappy about certain conditions in their life. They want <strong>more peace, more balance, more money, or a satisfying relationship</strong>. Yet, the more they worry about why they don’t have it the worse they experience the fear of not receiving it.</p>
<p>Einstein says, “We can’t solve a problem from the consciousness [place] it was created.” Likewise, we can’t problem solve our way out of challenges or conditions in our life. We have to LET GO of the idea that if we don’t resolve or fix it, no one will. We all have these wonderful right-brains that get under-utilized. <strong>Our poor left-brain is in over-drive</strong> trying to solve our problems, the problems of our family, and the world.  Meanwhile, our right brain that is creative, intuitive, and full of tons of ideas we may not have even considered.</p>
<p><strong>So how do we Let Go</strong> and allow our intuition to take over? We release the problem to it. Make a commitment right now to stop thinking, worrying, talking, or lamenting about what you don’t have or don’t want.</p>
<p>Instead, ask your right brain some questions.<a href="http://www.deborahderas.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/lightbulbbrain.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-840" style="border: 3px solid black;" title="lightbulbbrain" src="http://www.deborahderas.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/lightbulbbrain-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a></p>
<p>And then be still and patient to allow the answers to download.One of my mentors said the quality of the questions we ask determines the quality of our lives.</p>
<p><strong>How can I have even more abundance right now?</strong><br />
<strong> How can I have even more balance right now?</strong><br />
<strong> How can I have an even healthier relationship right now?</strong><br />
<strong> How can I have an even healthier body temple?</strong></p>
<p>I am purposefully coaching you to say “even more” because I want you to know that balance, joy, peace, <strong>abundance is your natural state-of-being</strong> and it is only our perceptions of circumstances, conditions and situations that get us out of alignment. Practice it by asking the questions, then listen for the answers and you will begin to hear these loving whispers that say, “what about this?” “Have you considered that?” Before long you find that you are guided to be at the right place at the right time meeting the right people for whatever you call forth.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.deborahderas.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/abundance.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-838" title="abundance" src="http://www.deborahderas.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/abundance-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a>For example, rather than worrying about not having that ideal relationship and asking yourself why there aren’t any good men/women out there; you can use the principle in my book, <em><a href="http://www.deborahderas.com/selfhelpbooks/">Confessions of an Adrenaline Addict</a>,</em> &#8220;The Power of Choice,&#8221; and ask an empowering question instead.</p>
<p><strong>How can I be even more available to a committed, monogamous, passionate and lifetime soulmate type relationship?</strong><br />
<strong> How can I be even more receptive to meeting my divine right partner?</strong><br />
<strong> What can I let go of to be even more available to a partner?</strong><br />
<strong> What qualities can I embrace to be even more magnetic to my ideal partner?</strong></p>
<p>Everyday, have a question like this as your first appointment of the day in your iPhone, blackberry or desk calendar. If you are open to what you are desiring, instead of concentrating on the lack of it, you will be more in alignment with it, and <strong>create a space <strong>in your life</strong> to receive it.</strong></p>
<p><strong></strong><a href="http://www.deborahderas.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/calendar2.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-839" title="calendar2" src="http://www.deborahderas.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/calendar2-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a><strong>In summary:</strong></p>
<p>1)    Decide what you really want in life<br />
2)    Focus on that desire in your conversation, thoughts, beliefs, behaviors<br />
3)    Let Go of figuring out how<br />
4)    Ask the questions to your intuition and be still or quiet for a few minutes to allow the answers to download. Your intuition is always conspiring for your good.<br />
5)    Create the space to allow it to come in (if you want more money organize your bills and finances. If you want a relationship make room for one in your life. If you want more career opportunities say no to extracurricular activities so you have the time).</p>
